25714305Despite last season’s fluky 11-5 campaign, trust us — The Miami Dolphins are very good at losing games.

Just two seasons ago they went a seemingly unfathomable 1-15, tied for the worst record in the last 30 years before the Detroit Lions scaled futility’s Mount Everest by failing to win a single game last season.  This season, the Dolphins appear to be on the road back to insignificance after getting thumped by the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, and following that up with a baffling loss to the Colts last night.

The Dolphins controlled the ball for three quarters of the contest, rushed for 239 yards, had a wide receiver go for over 100 yards receiving, and still managed to lose to Indianapolis last night 27-23.  Colts quarterback Peyton Manning (pictured) threw for 303 yards and two scores to lead the Colts to a 2-0 start.

This was supposed to be a banner day for the Dolphins and majority owner Stephen Ross.  Ross rolled out the red carpet (well, actually the carpet was Dolphins’ orange) for several of his new celebrity minority owners including Venus and Serena Williams, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan and Jimmy Buffett. Sports luminaries Tiger Woods and Dwyane Wade were also in attendance.

But the Dolphins did their level-best to quash any excitement by losing a very winnable game.  In fairness, the Dolphins also started 0-2 last season before turning it around to win the AFC East last year.  But being that the Dolphins have the toughest schedule in the NFL this year, don’t expect them to make a similar run this season.
